Comprehensive General Rules
How long has it been since you updated or improved your condominium’s General Rules? If the answer is "too long"
then GMA can help. We have two main alternatives.
The Comprehensive General Rules Flat Fee Package
If your condominium board is thinking about improving its rules, the best approach
is to ask us to provide our Comprehensive General Rules Package. We have separate
packages applicable to high rises and townhouse complexes, both of which have been
designed by GMA senior partner J. Robert Gardiner,
a preeminent condolawyer. The package includes:
- Special rules for tenants;
- Moving and Service Elevator Rules;
- Parking rules;
- Pet rules;
- Rules prohibiting harassment, sexual harassment and human rights abuses;
- Rules prohibiting trespassing and loitering or boarding house use; and
- Rules that prevent hotel and transient lease use.

Review and Update of Existing Rules
If package is not the right fit for your condominium, then GMA can review and update
your existing rules. We can compare your existing rules to GMA’s modern Comprehensive
Rules, note the differences and provide specific revisions and additional provisions.
Or we can simply review your existing rules and regulations as written, and ensure that
they comply with the provisions of the current Condominium Act, accounting for major
leading cases, human rights and other legislative requirements; but without otherwise
improving those rules or adding the types of additional rules found in our Comprehensive
Rules package.
We provide this service on an hourly rate basis. The cost for us to fully review
your existing rules and make detailed amendments can vary depending primarily upon
the extent, accuracy and quality of legal drafting in those rules. Contact us if
you would like more information.
